About
Mariko Studio started in 2020 with a simple idea: to create thoughtful, beautiful identities for brands with something meaningful to say.
Over time, the work became about much more than design. A curiosity for the story behind a business, the people it needs to reach, what makes it different, and where it’s going next has shaped Mariko into the studio it is today.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
A designer and creative director, Lindsay Clarke founded Mariko Studio in 2020 with a vision: distinctive brands that transcend time and trends, as intentional as they are impactful. With 10 years of industry experience, Lindsay leads the creative direction of every Mariko Studio project with her trademark design sensibility, known for visual storytelling and a timeless aesthetic.
Her approach is shaped by a background in both psychology and design, bringing together an understanding of how people think, what draws them in, and the role design plays in shaping perception. Lindsay studied Psychology before earning her Bachelor of Design in Fashion Communication from Toronto Metropolitan University, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach spanning graphic design, strategy, storytelling and visual culture. Today, that foundation informs a thoughtful approach to brand building—creating identities that are not only beautiful, but considered, designed to build connection and leave a lasting impression.
Her work is trusted by emerging and renowned lifestyle brands around the world.

FAQ
What is brand strategy?
Brand strategy is the foundation behind every creative decision we make. It defines how your business is positioned, what makes it distinctive, who it’s for, and how it should be perceived. Before we explore colours, logos, or typography, we establish the strategic direction that ensures your brand is both beautiful and meaningful.
What if I only want a logo?
We don't offer standalone logo design. A logo is only one part of a much larger brand system, and on its own, it rarely solves the challenges businesses are trying to overcome. By designing your brand as a complete, cohesive identity, we create something that's built to support your business for years to come – not just today.
Can you work with my existing logo or branding?
In most cases, no. Our work is rooted in the relationship between strategy, branding, and design, so we typically create websites and supporting assets for brands we've developed ourselves. This ensures every touchpoint feels cohesive, intentional, and aligned. On occasion, we may take on standalone website projects where an existing brand is already established and aligns with our approach.
What isn’t included in your pricing?
While we do our best to source free assets whenever possible, some projects may require premium resources to achieve the best result. Rather than choosing an asset simply because it's free, we believe in selecting the one that's right for your brand.
Additional costs may include, but aren't limited to:
Font licenses, stock or brand photography, copywriting, advanced SEO, premium website themes, website hosting and subscriptions, printing fees, and additional revisions beyond the project scope.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Flexible payment schedules are available for all projects and are tailored to your project timeline and investment.
Do you offer copywriting?
We don’t write copy ourselves, but we partner with experienced copywriters who create thoughtful, conversion-focused website copy that complements the work we do. If you already have a copywriter, we're happy to collaborate. If not, we'd be happy to connect you with one.
How much does a project cost?
Brand identity projects begin at $6,500 CAD, with larger engagements tailored to the scope of the project. We typically build the brand foundation before moving into website, packaging, or print design, though we occasionally take on standalone projects when an existing brand is already well established and aligned with our approach.
For a more detailed look at our services and starting investments, you can view our Investment Guide.
How long will my project take?
Most projects span 4–12 weeks, depending on the scope. Brand identity projects typically take 3–8 weeks, while website design generally adds another 4–6 weeks. Larger engagements that include branding, packaging, and web may take longer.
We’ll outline a clear timeline before your project begins so you know what to expect at every stage.
Who will I work with?
Every project is led by Lindsay, Mariko Studio’s founder, creative director, and lead designer, so you’ll work closely with her throughout the process from initial direction through to final design.
Depending on the scope, we also bring in a trusted network of collaborators, including developers, copywriters, illustrators, and other specialists. This allows us to build the right team around each project while keeping the creative direction cohesive from start to finish.
Do you work with businesses outside of Canada?
Absolutely. Mariko Studio is based in Vancouver, Canada, but we work with clients across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. Our process is designed to work seamlessly across locations and time zones, with all meetings, presentations, and feedback handled remotely.
Is Mariko Studio the right fit for my business?
We work best with clients who value thoughtful, original design and are looking for a creative partner rather than simply a service provider. You don’t need to come to us knowing exactly what your brand should look like. That’s part of our job. What matters is that you’re open to the process, value collaboration, and trust us to translate your vision into something distinctive and true to your brand.
If you’re looking to build a brand with depth, character, and a strong point of view, we’ll likely work well together.
